Ballet Fitness

Did you have a childhood dream to be a Ballerina?

Where you're at?

You're feeling stuck in a rut or a bit down in the dumps. You want to start something new but aren't sure what. You've seen ballet on TV or in the theatre and love the idea of it but feel too old and stiff to start something like that as an adult. You might have done ballet in the past as a child but feel way too rusty to pick it up again now and don't have much confidence in your dancing anymore. You enjoy piano or classical music.

What problems might you be facing right now?

You are feeling a bit blue and demotivated and aren't sure what to do about it. Your body is feeling a bit stiff and heavy. You feel like age is catching up with you. Your current workout routine has gotten a bit boring, or you aren't doing much other exercise at the moment. You have a lot to juggle with work or family commitments and crave having time to yourself to unwind and take your mind off things.

What you need help with right now…

Finding a new hobby and challenge to inspire and motivate you. Finding a way to take your mind off the pressures of day-to-day life. To be shown exercises and stretches which will help you to feel stronger, more supple and energised. Understanding how to improve your posture. Improving your memory. Carving out some time in your busy week which is just for you. Getting an opportunity to meet new people and make new friends to enrich your life.

How can Ballet Fitness help you?

Ballet is a beautiful, elegant style of dance which requires musicality, technique and physical aptitude. There is so much to it and so much to learn, making it a really exciting new hobby which can motivate, inspire and rejuvenate you. You will do exercises using the barre, which will improve your balance, strength, posture, flexibility and stamina, vital for helping to keep your body healthy. These exercises will improve your ballet technique and you will feel more confident, inspired and motivated.

Learning new steps and choreography will improve your memory and help you to keep a sharp mind. Improving your focus and attention in other areas. Developing a stronger awareness of yourself in space in relation to other people, improving your sense of rhythm, timing and co-ordination.

This class is for beginners and those who haven't danced for a very long time. The pace will be slow, helping you to grow in confidence, both in the dance class and in life.

Dancing with the same people each week means you will get to know new people and have a chance to make new friends.
